Yesterday the Connecticut Judicial Department announced the additional steps they will be taking toward more fully reopening the state courthouses.
On June 8 the Torrington, Middletown and Rockville courts will open. These three courts will join the 6 courthouses that are currently open and conducting priority one business.
The Judical Department has implemented video conferencing technology that will allow the courts to conduct remote pretrials begining on June 6. These pretrials will focus on cases that were ready for disposition before the pandemic hit in addition to priority one business.
On June 15 all open courthouses will operate from 9am to 5pm on Monday and from 9am to 1pm on Tuesday through Friday.
On June 29 the courthouses in Danbury, Milford, Stamford and Danielson will open.
On July 6 all open courthouses will operate from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
Throughout this process the courts will continue to focus on priority one business and cases that can be disposed of by way of remote pretrials and a remote sentencings.
As this process continues to develop we anticipate receiving additional information and guidance from the Juducial Department and will provide up dates as we know more. Attached is the memorandum from the Judicial Branch.
